Good article from Oliver North. The lesson learned from Vietnam should be that the Pentagon, State and DOD do not allow the media to define this war and lose it for us as they did with Vietnam.

Dixie Chicks are back in the news being used as vehicle for Bush bashing. MSM is presenting them as being so right all along and now the majority of the country agrees with them if this is accurate. Although, its strange that with all this agreement that their concerts are still being cancelled because of very poor ticket sales. Of course the natural course of war is that eventually the people grow weary of it and the grumbling against the war grows. This would not occur if it was total war and the nation was in grave and immediate danger of being defeated with severe consequences. But, the real issue is the D. Chicks along with others of their ilk just don’t get it. You don’t attack your commander in chief on foreign soil when the nation is at war no matter how much you disagree with it. The proven and acceptable stance is to forgo one’s personel politics for the greater cause of the security of your country and countrymen. To most people this is self evident and needs no explaining. One can remain silent until there is a more appropiate time to address one’s grievances. Ladies and gentlemen used to understand this. But, in today’s world of anything goes, behavioral and verbal, and with moral relevancy being the pseudo-philosopy of the progressive mind then the virtue of patriotism is sorely misunderstood and the dangers to national security are shrugged off as if they do not exist. They then rant about their freedom of speech and how they are being attacked by those who disagree with them completely ignorant of the sacrifices of blood that make their freedom real by the people who now could be endangered because their speech has given the enemy motivation to fight one more day. D. Chicks you just don’t get it and probably never will.

A longtime Democrat New York legislator known as a community activist and leading figure in the state’s labor movement, has been federally indicted for embezzlement, fraud, receiving bribes and laundering money.

Queens Assemblyman Brian McLaughlin makes a hefty $263,600 annual salary as a legislator and president of New York’s largest labor organization, yet he stole $2.2 million from taxpayers, labor unions and contractors for his personal expenses and those of his wife, girlfriend and children.

A 186-page federal indictment details how McLaughlin abused his power as an influential state legislator and popular labor union figure over a decade. He stole $95,000 from Little League baseball teams to pay his rent, created fake jobs on his legislative payroll and kept the salaries and illegally used more than $300,000 of reelection campaign money to pay for his son’s wedding rehearsal dinner, renovation of his lavish house, a country club membership and even the purchase and installation of a plasma television for a girlfriend.

McLaughlin is also charged with using stolen money to buy an expensive sports car for his wife, pay school tuition for his children and rent payments on two of his houses. Additionally, he used subordinates as personal servants to trap rodents in his basement, clean his house and take his dog to the veterinarian.
This is a far cry from the biography posted by the New York City Central Labor Council, an umbrella organization of unions that represents more than 1.5 million working men and women. On its web site the council describes its president, McLaughlin, as an “organizer and mobilizer” with untiring efforts to secure a better life, decent wages and benefits for working men and women.

Middle Eastern terrorists, violent Mexican drug cartels and sophisticated human smugglers regularly use the Southwest border to illegally enter the United States. In fact, the U.S.-Texas border is infested with violent crimes carried out by organized syndicates that smuggle drugs, humans, weapons and money across the U.S.-Mexico border on a daily basis.

An investigative committee of the Department of Homeland Security released a 40-page report outlining the alarming rise in the level of violence and criminal activity along the nation’s 2,000-mile border with Mexico, which includes California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. It also reveals findings from a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation that documents how members of Hezbollah and other deadly Middle Eastern terrorist groups have entered the U.S. through the Mexican border.

The report is the result of a lengthy department investigation and features informative charts, photos and graphs detailing how severe the situation has become at the border and how overwhelmed federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are by the rise in organized crimes.

The statistics include the number of human apprehensions and millions of pounds of drugs confiscated by US authorities in 2005 alone. Border Patrol apprehended 1.2 million illegal aliens and 165,000 were from countries other than Mexico. Of those non Mexicans, about 650 were from countries that have been designated by intelligence agencies as countries that export terrorism to the United States.

A chart breaks down the figures on the millions of pounds of illegal drugs that were seized entering the country through Mexico last year alone. Seizures include more than a million pounds of cocaine, nearly 7 million pounds of marijuana and almost 17,000 pounds of methamphetamine. Authorities say these deadly Mexican drug cartels work with lethal U.S.-based gangs and use military style weapons to outgun US authorities.

The report is a must read for those illegal immigrant advocates who say that only humble, poverty-stricken civilians desperately searching for a better life cross the U.S. border illegally.

Un-huh, yeah now think about this headline ?? All Moms are against the GOP now? Or just the two or three they interview in the article. Of course there’s a poll that backs up the headline. But, we know about MSM polls don’t we ! MSM is trying hard to cover every angle and I do mean every angle of negative they can about GOP before the election. Time to call them on the carpet. Wouldn’t this be kinda like ‘contributions in kind’.

Well, we have some bloggers who are hot on the trail of the M. Foley story. Could be that the entire matter is a Democrat dirty trick. On the serious side there may have been some degree of blackmail of a United States congressman and that could be painful for the perpetrator.

PBS and Bill Moyers have done nothing more than a political hack job on the Republican Party just before a national election. Its a new low for journalism and PBS. Time to take away the purse.

The MSM is throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Bush and the Republicans before election day. The NIE, Woodward’s new book, sex scandals, all negative news about Iraq and Afghanistan. Could not this be considered ‘contribution in kind’ to the Democrats?? Need to look into that plus pure manipulation of the news which by the way is illegal under FCC rules and regulations.

I wonder if they realize how transparent they are? Guess not… They will not even get it after this backfires on them in the election.
